A design challenge: style and substance
The architect for this private home came to us with a specific request: she and the client wanted French casement-style windows, to fit with the look and style of the house – but without a central mullion.
This wasn’t something we had done before, but we never turn down a challenge! After detailed research and testing we found the solution: our Italian-sourced ironmongery gave the look and feel that the client wanted, while also taking care of practical concerns, like making sure the windows would be secure and weathertight.
These beautiful windows – both in the house and the attached orangery – are proof against the elements, easily operated with one handle only, and integrate seamlessly with the existing stonework. They also give beautiful sight lines over the garden for the clients to enjoy both morning and evening sunlight – mission accomplished!
